Greetings

I’m Shayla, an Atlanta native with a passion for helping mission-driven organizations thrive. After graduating from Spelman College, I initially set my sights on law school and spent my early career in the insurance industry. Those five years gave me valuable experience in contract law as well as sales experience. A skill I would soon learn is critical in my future line of work.

In 2018, I decided to follow my heart into the nonprofit world, where I could use my skills to make a more direct impact on causes I care about. I later completed my MPA in Nonprofit Management from Georgia State University, which helped me take my career to new heights.

Over the past several years, I’ve worn many hats in the nonprofit sector – from Development Coordinator to Deputy Director and even Executive Director. Throughout these roles, I’ve had the joy of securing over $2 million in individual, corporate and foundation funding. I’ve led virtual and in-person fundraising campaigns, managed institutional giving programs, and developed strategies that helped organizations maintain financial stability even during challenging times.

Now, as Principal Consultant with ProTeam Solutions, I’m thrilled to begin my second act helping multiple nonprofits achieve their fundraising and organizational management goals. I bring all my years of hands-on experience to each client, offering customized solutions to help them maximize their impact.

When I’m not helping nonprofits reach their full potential, you can find me in Los Angeles enjoying time with my husband, developing new recipes in the kitchen, and playing with my dog.
